Beauty? How do you define beauty, is it in the eye of the beholder, is it something you can quantify, is it something you can judge in a competition? I am thinking about that today, because there's a competition due early October, and the theme is "Beauty". I could do a beautiful wave, I could do a beautiful landscape, I could do a beautiful human, and I could even do a beautiful eastern water dragon, spikes and all. Let me know in the comments if you have any suggestions! This painting, by me, but unsigned*, "Sleeping Beauty", 90s, watercolour, ink and gouache, with a bit of scraping with the wrong end of the paintbrush in the sky. Off the weed 12 months today and off the piss over 3 months as well. YMMV, but works for me. "Mull Monster", pastel on paper, mid-80s? I was trying to find another pastel I did around that time titled "Me and Inda in the Gutter", which was a picture of me and a didgeridoo player buddy totally off chops outside the Sebel Town House one night in Sydney, but I couldn't find it. I know I've got a transparency of it somewhere 🤔 it's pretty funny and I would like to share it 🫠
